Get Your Bathroom Organized
October 17, 2011

I first met organizing expert Meryl Starr while doing a story on a mother of two young children who desperately needed help getting her home into shape. It only took Meryl a few hours to make some major improvements.  I was amazed!  Now, I check in with Meryl often to get tips to make our busy lives more organized and more stress free!

Taking Care of Your Mental Health
October 15, 2011

A big thank you to everyone who came out for the NAMI walk.  I put this short video together and it’s worth watching the ending to see just how many people came out in horrible weather to support the cause.  This year in Pittsburgh, one out of four people will need some sort of mental health help.  If you or your family member needs help don’t be embarrassed. A lot of other people are going through the same thing. NAMI can help get your life back together. Click here to get the help you need.

About 400 individuals attended the first General Assembly of Occupy Pittsburgh on October 5, 2011.  Through a Consensus Process for Direct Democracy the assembly voted overwhelmingly to demonstrate non-violently.   This pledge will be upheld by members of Occupy Pittsburgh on the 15th and at all future actions.

Occupy Pittsburgh is acting in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street and the rapidly growing Occupy Movement which has spread to 1,450 cities worldwide.  Updated information on Occupy Communities is available at http://www.OccupyTogether.org

Pink Glove Dance
October 6, 2011

Vote for our local hospital employees to win!

You’ve probably heard of the “Pink Glove Dance” video, a rousing dance video featuring Oregon hospital employees wearing pink gloves to raise breast cancer awareness. Now a local hospital has jumped in on the fun. Because of the huge response to the video – 13 million views on You Tube – Medline, which produced the original video, decided to sponsor a national competition. Forbes Regional in Monroeville produced a video for the competition, and it features some fancy dancing as well as choreography, to the tune of “You Won’t Walk Alone,” by Best Day Ever. The  top three contestants will win cash prizes for donation to the breast cancer charity of their choice.
